Vladimir Jaffe is a former Soviet citizen with a master’s degree in chemical engineering. In the USSR, he was active in Jewish circles, dissident movements, and international media—at significant personal risk—and was interrogated at KGB headquarters in 1985. He emigrated to the United States in 1988 at the age of 29 and is now a successful American entrepreneur.

Vladimir Jaffe reveals the realities of what it was like to have lived in communism and socialism from his own experiences. Over the years, a new generation of Americans are favoring socialism with an awe of communism over capitalism. Our conversation focuses on the surge of socialism in America - an ideology and political system that has devastated economies around the world and forced people to leave their lands for free and prosperous countries like the United States.

Gallup’s latest survey, released September 23, 2026, found that among Americans ages 18–34, 57% have a positive view of socialism, compared with 43% who have a positive view of capitalism. Among Americans 55 and older, the pattern is reversed: 65% view capitalism positively and 34% view socialism positively.
