Nancy DeBoer has a proven record of success. She has been a concerned citizen, City Councilwoman, and the first female Mayor of Holland. Nancy understands the needs of the people she serves by encouraging collaboration, fostering communication, and persevering under pressure. Some of her Mayoral accomplishments include:

— Construction of a state-of-the-art natural gas plant, reducing the City of Holland’s carbon emissions by 50%.
— 8th Street Development Zone
— Initiating the process for fiber internet downtown and studying the potential for it to spread city-wide
— Renovating the Civic Center Place

For 15 years, DeVos served as an in-school mentor for at-risk children in the Grand Rapids (Michigan) Public Schools. Her interactions there with students, families and teachers, according to DeVos, "changed my life and my perspective about education forever." A leader in the movement to empower parents, DeVos has worked to support the creation of new educational choices for students in 25 states and the District of Columbia.

Betsy DeVos is the former Chairman of The Windquest Group, a privately held investment and management firm based in Michigan with a diversified consumer product and service portfolio.
