The timely conversation with Troy Miller on America's Roundtable focuses on the significance for Christians to vote in US elections in preserving freedom of speech and religious freedom. A recent study released by Arizona Christian University, led by Dr. George Barna, indicates that 32 million regular Christian church attenders are unlikely to vote this election. While this major voting block upholds Judeo-Christian values and principles, the study reveals apathy among Christian voters could be a "gamechanger" this election, according to Barna.

Mr. Miller also shares about his recent visit to Israel and the tragedy of the Iran-backed Hamas terrorist group murdering 1200 individuals and taking 250 hostages on October 7, 2023. Miller speaks about the importance of the faith community in combating anti-Semitism and presents moral clarity in standing with Israel and the Jewish community in the West.

Miller is a senior executive with more than 30 years of management and business experience. He has served as the interim CEO of NRB since March 2019, assuming leadership during a time of financial crisis. Upon hearing of the news that their close friend David Newman was at the music festival near the Gaza border and under attack by Hamas terrorists, Gidon Hazony and another friend made a decision to go and save him. Enroute to the music festival from Jerusalem, Gidon Hazony, a trained Israeli Defense Force medic began to realize the extent of the invasion by terrorists as they passed the dead bodies of innocent Israeli Jews on the road heading south.

As Gidon Hazony and other medics were working to save the lives of Israeli soldiers and civilians, he received a message that their friend David Newman was killed at the music festival.

In David Newman's honor, close friends including Hazony founded Soldiers Save Lives.

Gidon’s parents met at Princeton University and made Aliyah in 1994. Gidon met David Newman while playing American Football, and quickly became best friends. Gidon is a valedictorian in Mathematics at Hebrew University, spent a year in America working in the field of Probability and Game Theory, and, before October 7th, was teaching calculus at Hebrew University.

Mr. Abramowitz oversees a unique combination of analysis, advocacy, and direct support to frontline defenders of freedom, especially those working in closed authoritarian societies. He previously directed the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum’s Levine Institute for Holocaust Education, prior to which he led the museum’s genocide prevention efforts. He spent the first 24 years of his career at The Washington Post, where he was national editor and then White House correspondent. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, and he was formally a Marshall Memorial fellow at the German Marshall Fund and media fellow at the Hoover Institution.

About Freedom House | History

Freedom House is the oldest American organization devoted to the support and defense of democracy around the world. It was formally established in New York in 1941 to promote American involvement in World War II and the fight against fascism.

From the beginning, Freedom House was notable for its bipartisan support. Freedom House's founders were prominent and influential leaders from the fields of business and labor, journalism, academia, and government. A central figure among its early leaders was First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt. Wendell Willkie, the Republican presidential nominee who ran against President Roosevelt in 1940, was also an ardent supporter and served as honorary co-chair along with Mrs. Roosevelt.
Initially, the mission of Freedom House was to counter isolationism, a powerful force promoted by the America First Committee. Constitutional scholar, author and former law clerk for Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas and federal appeals Judge Laurence Silberman

John Yoo is a visiting fellow at the Hoover Institution, Emanuel S. Heller Professor of Law at the University of California–Berkeley School of Law, and a visiting scholar at the American Enterprise Institute. His most recent book is Defender in Chief: Donald Trump’s Fight for Presidential Power (St. Martin’s 2020).

Yoo has served in all three branches of government. He was an official in the US Department of Justice, where he worked on national security and terrorism issues after the September 11 attacks. He served as general counsel of the US Senate Judiciary Committee under its chairman, Orrin Hatch of Utah. And he has been a law clerk for Supreme Court justice Clarence Thomas and US Court of Appeals judge Laurence Silberman.

He held the Fulbright Distinguished Chair in Law at the University of Trento in Italy, and he has also been a visiting professor at Keio Law School in Japan, Seoul National University in Korea, Chapman Law School, the University of Chicago, and the Free University of Amsterdam. Professor Yoo also has received the Paul M. Bator Award for excellence in legal scholarship and teaching from the Federalist Society for Law and Public Policy.

Yoo is the author of a number of books: Striking Power: How Cyber, Robots, and Space Weapons Change the Rules for War(2017); Point of Attack (2014); Taming Globalization (2012); Crisis and Command (2010); War by Other Means (2016); and The Powers of War and Peace (2005). He has co-edited three other books, most recently Liberty’s Nemesis: The Unchecked Expansion of the State (2016) (with Dean Reuter).

Professor Yoo received his B.A., summa cum laude, in American history from Harvard University. Between college and law school, he worked as a newspaper reporter in Washington, D.C. He received his J.D. from Yale Law School, where he was an articles editor of the Yale Law Journal.
