Join America's Roundtable (https://americasrt.com/) radio co-hosts Natasha Srdoc and Joel Anand Samy with Bill Yeargin, one of America's top CEOs who took an iconic American boat manufacturing company which was experiencing financial difficulties. By transforming the corporate culture at Correct Craft, Bill took Correct Craft with revenues of $40 million in 2009 and reached its goal of becoming a billion-dollar enterprise in 2023.
During Yeargin’s tenure, Correct Craft grew by over 20X and won many awards, including Florida’s Manufacturer of the Year and the boating industry’s Most Innovative Company. It also became an influential voice in the boating industry as well as in Washington, DC.
In highlighting the new book titled "Mindset Matters" which he co-authored with Zach Hutcheson, CFO of Correct Craft, Bill Yeargin shares his insights and experiences over the past 20 years at the helm of Correct Craft.
The company played a pivotal role in World War II when the leadership of the company in 1945 heeded the call of General Eisenhower who needed over 400 boats in the winter to move over 15,000 US soldiers in the perilous crossing of Germany's River Rhine.
The company was then producing less than 20 boats per month, yet did the impossible in what National Geographic called the "Miracle Production" when Correct Craft built over 400 boats in less than 30 days while keeping the Sabbath.
The unique story of Correct Craft over the past 101 years reminds us all of the creativity and ingenuity of Americans fueling innovation and achieving ground-breaking results.
About Bill Yeargin:
Bill Yeargin is a thought leader, CEO, board member, global traveler (110 countries), innovator, and culture evangelist. He has authored six books including the best sellers Education of a CEO and Faith Leap. Bill has shared leadership insights in innumerable articles and columns for over three decades and has been a popular speaker at hundreds of events on six continents.
The company Bill leads as CEO, Correct Craft, is a 100-year-old company with global operations. Correct Craft’s subsidiaries include multiple boat brands, engine brands, water sports parks, and entities devoted solely to vertical integration and innovation. The company has manufacturing facilities across the U.S. and distributes into about 70 countries.
Under Bill’s leadership, Correct Craft has developed a unique culture of “Making Life Better.” They have won all their industry’s major awards and were recognized as Florida’s “Manufacturer of the Year.” Correct Craft has also been recognized as the boating industry’s “Most Innovative Company.”
A passionate lifelong learner, Bill has earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting and an MBA. He has also completed post-graduate studies at Harvard, Stanford, Wharton, MIT, and the London School of Economics. Bill is a certified public accountant and certified Lean Six Sigma black belt. In addition, he is certified in both Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and DISC.
Palm Beach State College recognized Bill as an outstanding alum with its Emerald Torch Award. Nova Southeastern University awarded Bill a doctorate of humane letters in recognition of his “contribution to the lives of others and the betterment of humanity.”
Bill served on numerous for-profit and non-profit boards and earned a certificate in corporate governance from both Columbia University and Cornell University. He also earned both a certificate in Risk Governance and Qualified Risk Director® credential from the DCRO Risk Governance Institute. Bill currently serves on multiple boards and is board chair of the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA).
Bill actively represents his industry on both national and state issues. He served both the Obama and Trump administrations on cabinet-level advisory councils and has been invited to the White House nine times by three different presidents. Bill was appointed by Florida’s governor to serve on the University of Central Florida board of trustees.
Bill has been recognized with many of the marine industry’s top awards including Boating Industry’s “Mover and Shaker of the Year.” Florida Trend magazine has recognized Bill as one of “Florida’s Most Influential Business Leaders” and he is an Orlando Business Journal “CEO of the Year.” The governor of Florida also presented Bill with the “Governor’s Business Ambassador Medal.”

<description>Join America's Roundtable (https://americasrt.com/) radio co-hosts Natasha Srdoc and Joel Anand Samy with Bill Yeargin, president and CEO of Correct Craft — a respected leader in the marine industry.
On America's Roundtable, Bill Yeargin shares about his experiences in the business arena and the principles which guided him and his company through a major transformation from $40 million in sales in 2009 to over $1 billion annually.
He has authored a number of books including the bestseller, “Education of a CEO” and the recently released “Faith Leap” - now available on Amazon. A passionate lifelong learner, Bill Yeargin has earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting and an MBA. He has also completed post-graduate studies at Harvard, Stanford, Wharton, and MIT. Bill Yeargin served both the Obama and Trump administrations on cabinet-level advisory councils.
He is the Chairperson of The National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA), the nation’s leading trade association representing boat, marine engine and accessory manufacturers. Collectively, the association’s members manufacture an estimated 80 percent of marine products used in North America.
“By the time I arrived at Correct Craft, the fighting within the company’s ownership family combined with a revolving door of CEOs, had created a culture that was, I think it’s fair to say, toxic,” says Yeargin. “Today, nearly 20 years later, Correct Craft has grown dramatically, exceeding our goal of over $1 billion in annual revenue. When people ask about the secret sauce that both turned Correct Craft around and fueled our tremendous growth, I share that it is primarily two things: our strategic planning process and our culture.”
During this conversation Bill Yeargin highlights his personal faith journey which he describes in the book "Faith Leap," including how his faith has helped him lead a company of over 2000 employees with distributors in 70 countries. Correct Craft had a 99-year history as a premier boat manufacturer but was teetering on the edge of survival when he took the reins in the early 2000s.
He has been recognized with many of the marine industry’s top awards including Boating Industry's “Mover and Shaker of the Year.” Florida Trend magazine called him one of “Florida’s Most Influential Business Leaders” and he is an Orlando Business Journal “CEO of the Year.” He was also presented the “Governor’s Business Ambassador Medal” by the Governor of Florida.

General Dwight D. Eisenhower's Urgent Request (https://boatingindustry.com/blogs/jonathan-sweet/2014/05/30/correct-crafts-world-war-ii-miracle/)
"Most of us in the industry know about the great work boat builders did during World War II to supply the military with vessels. It’s worth remembering, though, during this Memorial Day week. I was reminded of it once again as we finished up our anniversary issue, which went to print this week.
The folks at Correct Craft/Nautique Boat Company shared some of their photos and information from that era, including the “Miracle Production.” That was when the company, then known as Pine Castle Boat and Construction Company, built 400 boats in 15 days in 1945 to aid the war effort – all without working Sundays. I’m sure the story is familiar to many of you, but worth sharing again.
You can read the full story in the words of Ralph C. Meloon Sr. here, but these are some of the highlights: On February 9, 1945, the government contacted the company and asked them how many boats they could make by February 28.
Simply put, the military needed boats and they needed them fast. Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower was requesting 569 boats to help move troops and supplies across the Rhine as the allies made their final push into Germany. Although only scheduled to make 48 boats that month, the company agreed to produce 300.
Despite pressure from the government to work seven days a week, the company kept to its long-held belief not to work on Sunday."

<description>A week after Americans and Europeans joined together through virtual events in commemorating the 75th anniversary of Victory in Europe (V-E Day 2020), remembering the significant sacrifices of an entire generation fighting for freedom against tyranny, the Croatian parliament co-organized an annual event honoring pro-Nazi Ustasha soldiers of the Independent State of Croatia a fascist regime which forged strong ties with Nazi Germany during the Second World War.
On Saturday, May 16, 2020 in Sarajevo, Bosnia, the Croatian parliament sponsored an event to further fuel anti-Semitism and Holocaust revisionism in the Balkans. A separate event was held in Zagreb, the capital of Croatia.
During the Holocaust, 80% of Croatia’s Jews were murdered under the rule of the pro-Nazi Croatian Ustasha government. In Sarajevo alone, 7,000 out of 10,000 Jews were murdered under the rule of the Croatian Ustasha government.
While these public events for May 2020 were reported in advance, the majority of Western diplomats residing in the capital city of Zagreb remained silent.
The Western diplomatic appeasement tactic has emboldened Croatia’s anti-Semitic figures.
The diplomatic corps using Western taxpayer funds continue to wine and dine Croatia’s politicians mired in corruption.
EU and NATO member Croatia is dependent on American taxpayer funds through billions of dollars in direct aid, grants, and favorable loans via the World Bank, EBRD and other entities.
How would Americans and Europeans respond if the modern-day Bundenstag — Germany’s parliament would sponsor an event commemorating Nazi soldiers and glorify Adolf Hitler and the country’s dark history? The West must not remain silent in the face of evil when facing Croatia’s anti-Semitic figures fueling Holocaust revisionism.
Dr. Ognjen Kraus, president of The Coordination of Jewish Communities said, “The HDZ government has failed to address the rise of anti-Semitism and the display of fascist symbols. It is lenient towards those sympathetic to the WWII Croatian fascist Ustasha regime.”
Over the years, Croatia’s politicians have used anti-Semitic laws to block the return of Jewish property and currency stolen during the rule of the Croatian Ustasha government from 1941–1945. Some $3 billion dollars worth of stolen private property and currency ought to be returned to Croatian Jewish families, their descendants and the Jewish community.
A principled approach from the West should include legislative action to freeze all taxpayer funded aid sent to Croatia via EBRD, The World Bank and NATO related military assistance and to censure Croatia’s politicians. The US State Department ought to block the visit of Croatian politicians, anti-Semitic figures, and individuals tied to Croatia’s criminal and corrupt networks to enter the United States of America.
Croatia’s government officials have been lobbying through Washingtom, D.C.-based groups including think tanks to expedite its entrance into the U.S. Visa Waiver Program. America’s elected officials should block Croatia’s entry into this special designated visa program. The US Homeland Security’s U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services ought to take a leadership role in carefully vetting visa applicants from Croatia.
The world is watching. Principled leaders and engaged citizens within strong rule of law nations have a responsibility to act. We owe it to the six million Jews and the 80% of Croatian Jews who were murdered during the Holocaust.
