His knowledge base comes from years of experience in business, as an economic consultant with Arthur Andersen and the World Bank and 20+ years of work in higher education teaching economics and ethics. He worked with the Senate side of the Virginia General Assembly for seven years.
He also served as the president of the Virginia Association of Economists and was a member of the Virginia Board of Accountancy. After working for Arthur Andersen and as a consultant for the World Bank, in 1996 Brat joined the faculty of Randolph–Macon College. Dr. Brat serves on the executive advisory board of the International Leaders Summit.

<p>Before coming to Liberty, Dr. Brat served in the United States Congress for Virginia’s 7th District. He served on the Budget, Education and Small Business Committees, and Chaired the subcommittee on Economic Growth, Tax and Capital Access. His knowledge base comes from years of experience in business, as an economic consultant with Arthur Andersen and the World Bank and 20+ years of work in higher education teaching economics and ethics. He worked with the Senate side of the Virginia General Assembly for seven years.</p>

<p>He also served as the president of the Virginia Association of Economists and was a member of the Virginia Board of Accountancy. After working for Arthur Andersen and as a consultant for the World Bank, in 1996 Brat joined the faculty of Randolph–Macon College. Dr. Brat serves on the executive advisory board of the International Leaders Summit.</p>
