Peter Robinson is the Murdoch Distinguished Policy Fellow at the Hoover Institution, where he writes about business and politics, edits Hoover's quarterly journal, the Hoover Digest, and hosts Hoover's video series program, Uncommon Knowledge™.

Robinson spent six years in the White House, serving from 1982 to 1983 as chief speechwriter to Vice President George Bush and from 1983 to 1988 as special assistant and speechwriter to President Ronald Reagan. He wrote the historic Berlin Wall address in which President Reagan called on General Secretary Mikhail Gorbachev to "tear down this wall!"

The conversation will begin by focusing on the 33rd anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. On November 9, 1989, five days after a major peaceful protest in East Berlin which gathered half a million people, the communist rulers gave permission for gates along the Berlin Wall to be opened. The fall of Communist Eastern Europe was hastened by the principled leadership of President Ronald Reagan joined by then-UK Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, Pope John Paul II, Germany's Helmut Kohl, Vaclav Havel, leaders within Poland, and other countries in the Soviet block yearning for freedom.

The historic day reminded the world of a speech that was delivered on June 12, 1987 by President Ronald Reagan when he shared these words:

"_Behind me stands a wall that encircles the free sectors of this city, part of a vast system of barriers that divides the entire continent of Europe. . . . Standing before the Brandenburg Gate, every man is a German, separated from his fellow men. Every man is a Berliner, forced to look upon a scar. . . . As long as this gate is closed, as long as this scar of a wall is permitted to stand, it is not the German question alone that remains open, but the question of freedom for all mankind. . . .

General Secretary Gorbachev, if you seek peace, if you seek prosperity for the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe, if you seek liberalization, come here to this gate.

Mr. Gorbachev, open this gate!

Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!_"

Bio | Peter M. Robinson

Peter M. Robinson is the Murdoch Distinguished Policy Fellow at the Hoover Institution, where he writes about business and politics, edits Hoover's quarterly journal, the Hoover Digest, and hosts Hoover's video series program, Uncommon Knowledge™.

Robinson is also the author of three books: How Ronald Reagan Changed My Life (Regan Books, 2003); It's My Party: A Republican's Messy Love Affair with the GOP, (Warner Books, 2000); and the best-selling business book Snapshots from Hell: The Making of an MBA (Warner Books, 1994; still available in paperback).

In 1979, he graduated summa cum laude from Dartmouth College, where he majored in English. He went on to study politics, philosophy, and economics at Oxford University, from which he graduated in 1982.

After the White House, Robinson attended the Stanford University Graduate School of Business. (The journal he kept formed the basis for Snapshots from Hell.) He graduated with an MBA in 1990.

Robinson then spent a year in New York City with Fox Television, reporting to the owner of the company, Rupert Murdoch. He spent a second year in Washington, D.C., with the Securities and Exchange Commission, where he served as the director of the Office of Public Affairs, Policy Evaluation, and Research. Robinson joined the Hoover Institution in 1993.

The author of numerous essays and interviews, Robinson has published in the New York Times, Red Herring, and Forbes ASAP, the Wall Street Journal, and National Review Online. He is the editor of Can Congress Be Fixed?: Five Essays on Congressional Reform (Hoover Institution Press, 1995).

Part II - A Conversation with Judge Henry W. Saad | U.S. Foreign Policy Impacted by America's Deteriorated Rule of Law

Join America's Roundtable Radio co-hosts Natasha Srdoc and Joel Anand Samy in a conversation with Judge Henry W. Saad, former Chief Judge of the Michigan Court of Appeals. Judge Henry W. Saad currently serves as Special Counsel in Plunkett Cooney's Appellate Law Practice Group.

The conversation with Judge Saad is focused on concerns raised by America's engaged citizens regarding the deterioration of the rule of law, the actions of the administrative state, and the fate of individual liberty and private property rights.

The conversation will also look at how America's rule of law impacts U.S. foreign policy, and specifically the current process put in motion which has allowed Iran — a state sponsor of terrorism to pursue its military goals of developing nuclear arms. While the Biden Administration has failed to hold to account a nuclear-armed Russia for invading a sovereign state on the European continent, the question raised is how will the White House cordon a nuclear-armed Iran from attacking sovereign states in the Middle East including Israel and beyond.

The discussion will also highlight the one-year anniversary of the chaotic and disastrous withdrawal of American troops from Afghanistan that saw the Taliban take power by force and 13 American service men and women killed in the withdrawal.

Update: The FBI Raid on Former President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago Home

According to published reports, "A federal magistrate judge has given the Department of Justice one week to provide a redacted copy of the affidavit used to justify the unprecedented FBI search of former President Trump's Mar-a-Lago residence, saying that he believes the affidavit should be partially released. U.S. Magistrate Judge Bruce Reinhart ruled the DOJ must turn over the redacted version by next Thursday at noon."

Retired Judge and former Chief Judge of the Michigan Court of Appeals Henry W. Saad serves as special counsel in Plunkett Cooney's Appellate Law Practice Group.

A member of the firm's Bloomfield Hills office, Judge Saad leverages his years of experience and legal counsel to the members of the appellate group who represent clients in litigation across the country. He also executes day-to-day responsibilities for a variety of multi-million dollar cases focused on complex business litigation in areas ranging from automotive to antitrust to complex contract and intellectual property.

During his over 40-year legal career, Judge Saad’s experience includes 20 years in private practice where he built a national reputation as a leading attorney specializing in complex drug liability litigation, media, libel law, labor and employment law and school law. This includes handling related appeals that resulted in nearly 20 published opinions. During his career as a lawyer and his tenure on the Michigan Court of Appeals, Judge Saad taught evidence, ethics and labor law for over 40 years as an adjunct professor at Wayne State University Law School and University of Detroit Mercy Law School.

In 1994, former Gov. John Engler appointed Saad to the Michigan Court of Appeals, a role he held for 23 years, including a term as Chief Judge of the Michigan Court of Appeals. During his tenure, Judge Saad served on the Governor's Task Force for Abused Children, and he also served as the Chair of the appellate court's Education Committee. Judge Saad was nominated to the federal district court by President George H.W. Bush and to the U. S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit Court by President George W. Bush. Judge Saad retired from the appellate court in 2017.

Cleta Mitchell is the Senior Legal Fellow at CPI and chairs CPI’s Election Integrity Network. Cleta is an attorney, licensed in Oklahoma and the District of Columbia, who has practiced election, campaign finance, and political law for decades. Cleta graduated from the University of Oklahoma and the University of Oklahoma College of Law. She is one of the founders and is Chairman of the Public Interest Legal Foundation. Cleta has served as outside counsel to the NRCC, the NRSC, the National Rifle Association, and dozens of GOP members of the House and Senate, as well as many local and state Republican party committees. She represents numerous conservative organizations and was one of the key attorneys who fought back against the Obama IRS during the targeting of tea party groups. Judge Henry Saad graduated with honors from Wayne State University Business School, and Wayne State University Law School, maagna cum laude. Judge Saad served as an adjunct law professor at both Wayne State University Law School and the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law.

In a career that spans more than 40 years, Saad’s experience includes 20 years at the law firm of Dickinson Wright, where he served as partner.In 1994, former Governor Engler appointed Saad to the Michigan Court of Appeals, a role he held for 23 years, including a term as chief judge of the Michigan Court of Appeals.

Saad was nominated for federal appointments by both President H.W. Bush and President George W. Bush.

In 2018, Henry William Saad, joined Young & Associate’s professional legal team as Counsel to the firm.
