Join America's Roundtable (https://americasrt.com/) radio co-hosts Natasha Srdoc and Joel Anand Samy with Dr. Victor Davis Hanson, senior fellow, Hoover Institution at Stanford University, bestselling author and a regular distinguished guest of the program.
Victor Davis Hanson, one of America’s best known and most prolific historians, grew up on a farm in Selma, California. His parents—a school administrator and one of California’s first female judges—made sure that he and his bothers worked hard. “If they saw you sitting around, they’d ask, ‘What are you doing?’” Hanson still labors with that question in his ear.
Dr. Hanson's insightful books including the "The Dying Citizen: How Progressive Elites, Tribalism, and Globalization Are Destroying the Idea of America," "The End of Everything: How Wars Descend into Annihilation," "The Father of Us All: War and History, Ancient and Modern," "Mexifornia : A State of a Becoming," and the upcoming book to be released in September 2026: "The Counterrevolution: The Fall and Rise of Donald Trump and the MAGA Movement." He has written or edited 28 books.
Victor Davis Hanson is an American classicist, military historian, and conservative political commentator. He is a professor emeritus at California State University and has authored numerous books and articles on military history and contemporary politics.
The timely and relevant conversation with Dr. Victor Davis Hanson:
American leadership in cordoning Iran, a state sponsor of terrorism, and to degrade Tehran's regime from obtaining a nuclear arsenal.
NATO's double standard on Iran and Europe's drift.
Dr. Victor Davis Hanson's new forthcoming book — "The Counterrevolution: The Fall and Rise of Donald Trump and the MAGA movement."

Join America's Roundtable (https://americasrt.com/) radio co-hosts Natasha Srdoc and Joel Anand Samy with Marc Lotter, Former Special Assistant to President Donald J. Trump and Chief Communications Officer at America First Policy Institute.
Marc Lotter is from Fort Wayne, Indiana, and serves as the Chief Communications Officer at America First Policy Institute (AFPI). Previously, Marc served as Director of Strategic Communications for the Trump-Pence 2020 campaign. He also was a Special Assistant to the President and Press Secretary to Vice President Mike Pence during most of the first year of the Trump Administration. Prior to joining the administration, he served as Press Secretary to the Vice President during the 2016 presidential campaign and transition. In those roles, Lotter regularly appeared on national and cable news outlets including Fox News Channel, MSNBC, CNN and programs such as: ABC’s This Week with George Stephanopoulos, CNN’s State of the Union with Jake Tapper, MSNBC’s Meet the Press Daily with Chuck Todd and Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace.
Before entering public service, Lotter spent 13 years as a producer and manager for television stations across the country. During Lotter’s career in local television news, his work received two Emmy awards and was recognized by the Society of Professional Journalists for the “Best Newscast” in Indiana.
Our conversation focuses on:
America's economy as inflationary prices persist with high interest rates. AP reported:
"Mortgage rates, credit card rates, auto loan rates, and business loans with variable rates will all likely maintain their highs, with consequences for consumer spending, after the Federal Reserve indicated Wednesday that it doesn’t plan to cut interest rates until it has “greater confidence” that price increases at the consumer level are slowing to its 2% target. The central bank kept its key rate at a two-decade high of roughly 5.3%, where it has been since last August.”
Illegal immigration impacting cities and local communities — will America's citizens and leaders address this crisis?
President Joe Biden's policy on Israel. The Biden administration's decision to block the transfer of congressionally approved military aid to the Jewish state presents greater risks. Critics voice concerns that Biden's policy will embolden Israel's enemies in the region, notably Iran, a state sponsor of terrorism.
Speaker Mike Johnson held a high-profile press conference unveiling the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act alongside the bill's leaders in the House and Senate, Rep. Chip Roy, R-Texas, and Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah. According to Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.), a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee and co-sponsor of the SAVE act:
"Current law makes it illegal for non-citizens to vote in federal elections, but it does not require states to obtain documentary proof of U.S. citizenship before an individual registers to vote. The SAVE Act would amend the National Voter Registration Act to clarify that states must require proof of citizenship when registering individuals to vote in federal elections."
America First Policy Institute presents — "An America First Approach to U.S. National Security”

Join America's Roundtable (https://americasrt.com/) Radio co-hosts Natasha Srdoc and Joel Anand Samy in a conversation with Steve H. Hanke, a top economist and leading monetarist.
Dr. Steve Hanke provides an analysis of midterm elections, an update on America's economy, and raises concerns about the prolonged Ukraine - Russia conflict as the West's economic sanctions fail to bring an end to the war on the European continent. Dr. Hanke has been a strong critic of corruption in Ukraine and recent reports that he highlights raise red flags that US weapons are making its way to the black market. On America's Roundtable, principled leaders have called for greater oversight on how US taxpayer aid is being used in Ukraine and within NATO's Eastern European countries mired in corruption.
Professor Hanke also discusses the Misery Index, and "why it is essential for policy-makers to have a read of their constituents’ well-being, as viewed through the lens of economic statistics."
Report: Hanke’s 2021 Misery Index: Who’s Miserable and Who’s Happy? (https://www.nationalreview.com/2022/03/hankes-2021-misery-index-whos-miserable-and-whos-happy/)
Hanke’s Annual Misery Index (HAMI). What is it — and how should we conceive of man’s well-being? The human condition lies on a vast spectrum between “miserable” and “happy.” In the economic sphere, misery tends to flow from high inflation, steep borrowing costs, and unemployment. The surefire way to mitigate that misery is through economic growth. Comparing countries’ metrics can tell us a lot about where in the world people are sad or happy. HAMI gives us the answers. My version of the misery index is the sum of the year-end unemployment, inflation, and bank-lending rates, minus the annual percentage change in real GDP per capita. Higher readings on the first three elements are “bad” and make people more miserable. These “bads” are offset by a “good” (real GDP per capita growth), which is subtracted from the sum of the bads to yield a HAMI score.

Join America's Roundtable Radio co-hosts Natasha Srdoc and Joel Anand Samy in a conversation with a distinguished guest and an American patriot — U.S. Congressman Mike Bost.
Our conversation focuses on America's energy crisis impacting families across the nation, President Joe Biden's policies and OPEC+'s decision to drastically cut production by 2 million barrels of oil per day. The discussion will also highlight America's economic woes and how Washington's policies are shaping the future of the country with rising interest rates adversely affecting first-time home buyers and the persistent US inflation wiping away savings and investments.
Congressman Bost will also bring to the forefront the national security crisis at the U.S. southern border and how it is affecting America's heartland. Terrorists on the FBI watchlist have been apprehended while concerns are raised about those who may have slipped into the US. Due to America's porous borders, the surge of drugs and specifically fentanyl are becoming leading causes of rising drug overdose deaths in the nation.
The conversation will also highlight what is being done to serve America's veterans and and the five House bills led by Congressman Bost to address a number of challenging issues including working to provide veterans a cost of living adjustment due to skyrocketing inflation.

Join America's Roundtable Radio co-hosts Natasha Srdoc and Joel Anand Samy in a recent conversation with Steve H. Hanke, a professor of applied economics and founder and co-director of the Institute for Applied Economics, Global Health, and the Study of Business Enterprise at the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. Steve Hanke is a leading world expert on currency boards, measuring and stopping hyperinflation, privatization, currency and commodity trading, water resource economics, and other topics.
The conversation with Professor Hanke will provide listeners with an update on the U.S. economy and the impact of inflation and how government policies affect families and the private sector, specifically small and medium size businesses.
Will the Fed's interest rate hikes lead to a soft-landing or a major recession in 2023?
On America's Roundtable Radio, Professor Hanke will highlight his economic predictions for 2023. His predictions for 2022 on the inflation rate was right on target, a warning he and his colleague John Greenwood relayed through a commentary in The Wall Street Journal a year ago titled "Too Much Money Portends High Inflation — The Fed should pay attention to Milton Friedman’s wisdom. (https://www.wsj.com/articles/money-supply-inflation-friedman-biden-federal-reserve-11626816746)"
How Effective are Sanctions on Russia?
The discussion will also examine U.S. and European Union sanctions imposed on Russia. This past week we found out that with energy prices up, Moscow is reaping significant financial gains through the sale of oil and gas. A recent Wall Street Journal report stated that through July 2022, Moscow has totaled $97 billion from oil and gas sales, earning $5.4 billion more per month than last year's monthly average. Russia is actually pumping almost as much oil into the global market as it did before prior to the conflict with Ukraine.
US Assistance to Ukraine Rises to $60 Billion — While the European Union's Contribution Amounts to $10 Billion Only
The Biden Administration along with Democrat and Republican members of Congress have authorized over $60 billion in US taxpayer funds to support Ukraine's military and provide assistance to Europe's NATO members. However, the EU comprised of 27 member states in Europe has only provided 10 billion euros (USD$10 billion) since the beginning of the war.
As a leading world expert on currency boards, measuring and stopping hyperinflation, currency and commodity trading, Dr. Hanke will relay his thoughts on the US and Euro currencies and the currency board that he developed for a number of countries around the world.
His recent commentary in The Wall Street Journal titled "Floating Exchange Rates Add to Economic Uncertainty (https://www.wsj.com/articles/exchange-rates-float-beyond-parity-dollar-euro-monetary-system-bretton-woods-agreement-inflation-currencies-11659991140)” raised important points. The discussion with Professor Hanke on Saturday morning will focus on the perils of instability which brings problems for the U.S. and Europe—and serious crises to developing nations.
Importantly, the conversation will highlight the significance of advancing principled pro-growth policies for America.
Recent statements by Professor Steve Hanke: (https://www.cnbc.com/2022/08/30/steve-hanke-were-going-to-have-one-whopper-of-a-recession-in-2023.html)
“We will have a recession because we’ve had five months of zero M2 growth, money supply growth, and the Fed isn’t even looking at it."
"The bottom line is we’re going to have stagflation — we’re going to have the inflation because of this excess that’s now coming into the system.”
“The problem we have is that the [Fed Chair Jerome Powell] does not understand, even at this point, what the causes of inflation are and were. He’s still going on about supply-side glitches. He has failed to tell us that inflation is always caused by excess growth in the money supply, turning the printing presses on.”

His recent commentary in The Wall Street Journal titled "Floating Exchange Rates Add to Economic Uncertainty” raised important points. The discussion with Professor Hanke on Saturday morning will focus on the perils of instability which brings problems for the U.S. and Europe—and serious crises to developing nations.

Importantly, the conversation will highlight the significance of advancing principled pro-growth policies for America.

His predictions for 2022 on the inflation rate was right on target, a warning he and his colleague John Greenwood relayed through a commentary in The Wall Street Journal a year ago titled "Too Much Money Portends High Inflation — The Fed should pay attention to Milton Friedman’s wisdom."

Join America's Roundtable Radio co-hosts Natasha Srdoc and Joel Anand Samy in a recent conversation with Arizona's State Treasurer Kimberly Yee focusing on her leadership role in countering the dangerous anti-Israel BDS (Boycott, Sanctions, and Divestment) movement. The conversation highlights the rise of anti-Semitism and how principled leaders across America are calling for principled actions against the BDS movement—a hateful campaign designed to delegitimize Israel and Jewish communities in America and around the world.
Arizona State Treasurer Kimberly Yee put investment firm Morningstar on notice and stated that it violated the state’s anti-BDS law.
The Jewish Insider | Morningstar ESG rating system violates Arizona anti-BDS law, treasurer says (https://jewishinsider.com/2022/08/arizona-kimberly-lee-morningstar-esg-sustainalytics/)
“As Treasurer, it is my duty to ensure that Arizona does not do business with companies that are attempting to undermine Israel’s economy and violate Arizona’s anti-BDS law,” said Arizona Treasurer Kimberly Yee. “Morningstar’s ESG rating subsidiary, Sustainalytics, appears to violate Arizona law by negatively impacting ratings of companies doing business in Israel. I continue to strongly oppose the use of woke ESG ratings in order to keep politics out of Arizonan’s livelihoods and retirement accounts.”
In Treasurer Yee’s letter to Kunal Kapoor, CEO of Morningstar Inc., she informed Kapoor that the company had 30 days within receipt of her letter sent on August 18, 2022, to provide written certification explaining how Morningstar’s usage of ESG ratings does not violate Arizona’s anti-BDS law. Further, Treasurer Yee required that Morningstar must provide a written averment that they will not engage in any future boycott activities against Israel.
“As Arizona’s Chief Banking and Investment Officer, I stand with Israel, and I will not allow taxpayer dollars to become victim to the woke political gamesmanship of ESG ratings. ESG ratings are a political scorecard, not a financial scorecard,” said Arizona Treasurer Kimberly Yee. “I will not allow companies to promote policies that are antisemitic and discriminatory efforts against Israel, which is America's longtime friend and ally, and a significant trade partner with Arizona.”
Treasurer Kimberly and Arizona's state government have stood in support of Israel's sovereignty and thwarted efforts of American companies working to boycott Israel.
Last year in September 2021, Treasurer Yee withdrew $143 million of Arizona's public funds from Unilever, the parent company of Ben and Jerry's over the ice cream firm’s decision to cease sales in Judea and Samaria also known as the West Bank, and east Jerusalem.
A published report stated (https://www.foxbusiness.com/politics/arizonas-state-treasurer-divests-funds-ben-jerrys-anti-semitic-boycott-israel) — "Arizona will not do business with companies that are attempting to undermine Israel’s economy and blatantly disregarding Arizona’s law," said Treasurer Kimberly Yee.

The Jewish Insider | Morningstar ESG rating system violates Arizona anti-BDS law, treasurer says

A published report stated — "Arizona will not do business with companies that are attempting to undermine Israel’s economy and blatantly disregarding Arizona’s law," said Treasurer Kimberly Yee.

Join America's Roundtable Radio co-hosts Natasha Srdoc and Joel Anand Samy in a conversation with Kimberly Yee, State Treasurer of Arizona (https://www.aztreasury.gov/treasurer-kimberly-yee)and former Arizona Senate Majority Leader. Arizona and the Arizona Treasurer’s Office was the first state to divest state funds from Ben & Jerry’s due to their Israeli settlement boycott in Judea and Samaria last September. On September 7, 2021, Arizona State Treasurer Kimberly Yee's divested $143 million of public funds from Unilever PLC, Ben and Jerry's parent company.
Treasurer Kimberly Yee provides the latest update on Ben & Jerry’s and the actions taken by its parent company Unilever.
"As Arizona Treasurer, I've divested all state funds from Ben & Jerry's for boycotting Israel," Yee tweeted (https://twitter.com/KimberlyYeeAZ/status/1435279685399678982?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw). "Israel is and will continue to be a major trade partner of AZ. #IStandWithIsrael and I will not allow taxpayer dollars to go towards anti-Semitic, discriminatory efforts against Israel."
The discussion with Arizona State Treasurer Kimberly Yee also focuses on America's inflation surge and the solutions presented to address the nation's energy crisis and the national security at the southern border. Arizona spans more than 370 miles of the U.S.-Mexico border. The U.S. Customs and Border Protection is on pace to make more than 2 million arrests along the Mexico border during the 2022 fiscal year.
On the energy front, Kimberly Yee has been a leading voice to hold to account the U.S. banking industry and the world’s largest asset managers when it comes to efforts to boycott energy companies. In November 2021, Treasurer Yee joined a coalition of 15 Republican Treasurers, Auditors, and Comptrollers of states representing over $600 billion in public assets with a warning that it could potentially reduce future business with banks that cut off financing for oil, gas, and coal.
The letter reads:
"We have a compelling government interest, when acting as participants in the financial services market on behalf of our respective states, to select financial institutions that are not engaged in tactics to harm the very people whose money they are handling. Further, we have the responsibility, as fiduciaries and stewards of more than $600 billion (https://oilprice.com/Energy/Energy-General/Republican-States-Could-Pull-600B-From-Anti-Fossil-Fuel-Banks.html), to ensure that our financial service providers are free from harmful conflicts of interest that could jeopardize state funds. Any financial institution that has adopted policies aimed at diminishing a large portion of our states’ revenue has a major conflict of interest against holding, maintaining, or managing those funds."

Join America's Roundtable co-hosts Natasha Srdoc and Joel Anand Samy for a conversation with Dr. Steve H. Hanke, professor of applied economics and founder and co-director of the Institute for Applied Economics, Global Health, and the Study of Business Enterprise at the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. Prof. Hanke served as senior economist on President Ronald Reagan’s Council of Economic Advisers and as senior adviser to the Joint Economic Committee of the U.S. Congress.
The discussion will highlight the reasons that Americans are facing skyrocketing inflation and high gas prices. On America's Roundtable, Professor Hanke will share why he believes that there is a 70 percent chance of a recession impacting America — and stagflation as a real possibility.
"According to what the Fed released on Tuesday, the US money supply (M2) has slowed dramatically in the past two months. If this plunge continues, a recession will begin late in 2022 or early 2023. The Fed is clearly doing what they’ve been doing for some time: flying blind." — Professor Steve Hanke
The conversation will also delve into America and the West's failure to change Russia's behavior as Putin and his generals wage war on the European continent. Professor Hanke, a strong critic regarding the effectiveness of imposing sanctions will share empirical observations and history's lessons regarding this failed effort being pushed by politicians.
CNBC report (https://www.cnbc.com/2022/06/23/russias-ruble-is-at-strongest-level-in-7-years-despite-sanctions.html) "Russia’s ruble hit its strongest level in 7 years despite massive sanctions. Here’s why" —
"The reasons are, to put it simply: strikingly high energy prices, capital controls and sanctions themselves. Russia is the world’s largest exporter of gas and the second-largest exporter of oil. Its primary customer? The European Union, which has been buying billions of dollars worth of Russian energy per week while simultaneously trying to punish it with sanctions."
WSJ: Cancel Milton Friedman, and Inflation Is What You Get — By Steve H. Hanke and John Greenwood (https://www.wsj.com/articles/inflation-joe-biden-op-ed-wsj-milton-friedman-monetarism-fed-11654293974) | June 5, 2022
The word ‘money’ doesn’t even appear in President Biden’s plan to whip inflation.
The lead paragraph of President Biden’s op-ed “My Plan for Fighting Inflation (https://www.wsj.com/articles/my-plan-for-fighting-inflation-joe-biden-gas-prices-economy-unemployment-jobs-covid-11653940654?mod=article_inline)” (May 31) asserts that the global economy faces an inflation problem exacerbated by Vladimir Putin’s war in Ukraine, high oil prices and supply-chain problems. This line of argument shows why the president’s team and the experts at the Federal Reserve were unable to anticipate the inflation conundrum that their economic missteps have forced us into. It also shows why the president’s plan will likely fail to allow us to exit inflation with a smooth landing.
We don’t have a global inflation problem. Inflations are always and everywhere a monetary phenomenon spawned by the creation of excess money by local central banks. China, Japan and Switzerland also face elevated oil prices, supply-chain problems and fallout from the war in Ukraine, but their annual inflation rates are 2.1%, 2.5% and 2.5%, respectively. They have avoided the ravages of inflation because their central banks haven’t produced excessive quantities of money.
Adherence to the tenets of monetarism is nowhere to be found in the Biden White House or the Fed. Chairman Jerome Powell has stressed that we had to “unlearn” monetarism. It looks like Mr. Biden was an attentive student. The word “money” doesn’t even appear in his plan to whip inflation. As he said in 2020, “Milton Friedman isn’t running the show anymore.” As long as Friedman and monetarism remain canceled, the White House and the Fed will be grasping for straws.

Jackson Women’s Health Organization overturning Roe v. Wade, America's national security crisis at the nation's southern border, the Republic's economic decline and the war in Europe.
On March 19, 2018, Governor Phil Bryant signed the Gestational Age Act (H.B. 1510) into law. This bill was introduced by Mississippi Representative Becky Currie, a registered nurse. The bill received bipartisan support in both chambers of the legislature.
Before becoming the state’s chief executive, Phil Bryant was lieutenant governor, state auditor and represented his legislative district in the Mississippi House of Representatives. Governor Bryant began his career as a deputy sheriff in Hinds County and is a great proponent in strengthening America’s constitutional principles — the rule of law, and standing firm for the significance of life, and liberty.
Governor Bryant serves on the leadership board of International Leaders Summit and is a distinguished guest contributor of America's Roundtable.
“The ability to obtain an abortion would not disappear across the U.S. It might in some states, but in some of those states there are already relatively few clinics that perform abortions. The likeliest result is a multiplicity of laws depending on how the debate and elections go. California might allow abortion until the moment of birth. Mississippi might ban it except in cases of rape or incest. This is how the American system is supposed to work, as the late Justice Antonin Scalia often wrote. After a series of elections, abortion law will sort itself out democratically. That had started to happen before the Supreme Court intervened in Roe, embittering the abortion debate and damaging the Court. In Dobbs the Court can say that such a profound moral question should be decided by the people, not by nine unelected judges.”

On America's Roundtable, key issues and topics impacting America and the world will be brought to the forefront with an in-depth look at how bad policies in Washington, DC, led to skyrocketing gas prices.
Join America's Roundtable co-hosts Natasha Srdoc and Joel Anand Samy with U.S. Congresman Mike Bost (R-IL). U.S. Congressman Mike Bost is ranking member of the House Committee on Veterans' Affairs, member of the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. The conversation focuses on the Russian invasion of Ukraine and its impact on America and the West. President Joe Biden's State of the Union address will be reviewed as America continues to face significant challenges on the economic, energy and security fronts.
Rep. Mike Bost represents the 12 counties of Illinois’ 12th District in the U.S. House of Representatives. Sworn into office on January 6, 2015, Mike is continuing the fight for our Southern Illinois’ values in Washington – a fight he began in U.S. military, then as a first responder, a local job creator, and a state representative.
In the 117th Congress, Rep. Mike Bost serves on two key committees: Veterans’ Affairs, and Transportation & Infrastructure. On the Veterans' Affairs Committee he serves as the Ranking Member, the top Republican on the Committee. Prior to his election to Congress, Rep. Bost served for two decades in the Illinois House of Representatives, rising to the leadership position of House Republican Caucus Chair.
Rep. Bost also served as a firefighter for the Murphysboro Fire Department. He graduated from the University of Illinois' Certified Firefighter II Academy in 1993 and continued to serve the Murphysboro Fire Department during his six terms as state representative. Prior to that, Rep. Bost worked for 13 years at Bost Trucking Service, first as a driver and then for 10 years as a truck manager.
Rep. Bost is a lifelong resident of Murphysboro. He graduated from Murphysboro High School in 1979. After high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps serving his country from 1979 to 1982. He was trained as an electronic specialist and radar repairman and received an honorable discharge as a Corporal E-4.

Join America's Roundtable co-hosts Natasha Srdoc and Joel Anand Samy with special guest U.S. Congressman Mike Bost (R-IL), Ranking Member of the House Veterans' Affairs Committee and Member of Transportation and Infrastructure Committee for a timely commemoration of Veterans Day 2021 and the 100th anniversary of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington National Cemetery. Congressman Bost shares about principled efforts to bring greater accountability and transparency on the Veterans Administration (VA) as veterans await healthcare cost reimbursements.
Congressman Bost also address the Biden Administration's chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan and the on-going efforts to rescue Americans and Afghan nationals who risked their lives to help the United States military. On economic front, we discuss the serious concerns of the highest inflation in three decades, the skyrocketing price of food, energy and gas, and discussing the importance of advancing pro-growth solutions.
Congressman Bost's commentary addresses the urgency to help veterans who were exposed to dangerous chemicals from open-air burns pits:
Burn Pits Cannot be the Next Agent Orange (https://riponsociety.org/article/burn-pits-cannot-be-the-next-agent-orange/) | The Ripon Forum
"I refuse to let burn pits be the next Agent Orange." — Rep. Mike Bost (R-Ill.), Ranking Member of the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs
The Washington Times: Wholesale prices hit record highs as inflation soars (https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2021/nov/9/wholesale-prices-hit-record-highs-inflation-soars/)
“Wholesale prices at the end of October surged by 8.6% since October 2020, the highest year-over-year increase recorded by the federal government since it began tracking the data in 2010, the Labor Department reported Tuesday. The report is bad news for consumers struggling with sticker shock as prices climb. It suggests that a high inflation rate is here to stay for a while despite the Biden administration’s insistence that it is temporary.”
