According to published reports: Adon Olam, is a hymn in the Jewish liturgy. It is the final prayer of the Musaf service on Shabbat morning and festivals. The word “Adon,” meaning master, was first spoken by Abraham in the Bible, referring to God. The lyrics speak about God’s greatness and all-empowering existence.
“King Charles III has always been a stalwart personal friend to the Jewish community. We hope that this new recording of Adon Olam will act as further recognition of the community’s affection for the Royal Family and our gratitude that Jews can observe their customs and traditions safely and openly in the UK." — Anthony Broza, chief executive of music distributor Wienerworld (https://www.thejc.com/news/news/sing-for-the-king-coronation-marked-with-new-melody-for-adon-olam-4Toe2Bnk0KQFOSeFtk7Wao)
Conversation also focuses on the power of music in countering anti-Semitism and the BDS (boycott, divestment and sanction) movement, and new projects planned by The Portnoy Brothers.

A Special Feature on Israel—The Start-Up Nation
The Jewish State's Entrepreneurial Spirit
Celebrating Israel's 75th Anniversary
Join America's Roundtable (https://americasrt.com/) Radio co-hosts Natasha Srdoc and Joel Anand Samy with Yaakov and Na'ama Berg, entrepreneurs and co-founders of The Psagot Winery located in the Jerusalem Mountains in Israel. This special feature will lead up to Israel's 75th anniversary to be celebrated from the evening of Tuesday, April 25 to the evening of Wednesday, April 26, 2023.
In our conversation we discussed the challenges and opportunities that Israel — America's strongest ally in the Middle East faces as we reflect on its 75 years as a sovereign nation:
— An entrepreneurial success story | The Psagot Winery in Judea and Samaria—the heartland of Israel.
— How the Arab population gains economic opportunities, employment, and higher salaries in Jewish communities within Judea and Samaria when compared to working in the Palestinian Authority's territory.
— Transforming the desert and the barren land into a land of promise through the exports of agricultural products, innovation and technology.
— U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and U.S. Ambassador David Friedman's visit to Psagot Winery in Judea and Samaria and the Trump administration's leadership in reversing the Obama administration's approach towards Israeli settlements.
The Psagot Winery | Psagotwines.com (https://psagotwines.com/en/home-page/)
From the Psagot Winery (https://psagotwines.com/en/home-page/)| Located in the Jerusalem mountains, overlooking the primordial landscape of Israel. It all began in a 2,500 year old cave, where a message from the past was revealed to us in the form of an ancient coin where history and legacy come together.
Psagot Winery and its vineyards planted deep in the rocky soil of Benjamin in Israel, is a continuation of wine production dating back thousands of years in an optimal area for its quality grapes. The winery was established in 2003 and has been growing steadily ever since. Today the winery produces over 750,000 bottles that include 15 different types of quality wines. Over 70% of these wines are exported to over 27 countries and duty-free locations around the world. The wines have entered prestigious competitions and have won awards and medals of distinction from the international community.
In June 2020, Psagot Winery moved to its new location at Sha’ar Binyamin. In a beautiful stone structure built in the shape of an ancient inn the winery overlooks Wadi Kelt and the Edom Mountains. The winery is divided into two sections; the wine production plant and the impressive visiting center that includes a barrel room below where over 1,000 barrels are aged each year.

Excerpt: "Berg, whose family fled antisemitism in Russia, arrived in Israel in 1979 when he was three years old. He views himself as a direct descendant of the biblical Jews who once toiled the same land. “Wine is an industry most identified with its geography,” Berg said. For this reason, he used a print of an actual ancient coin he discovered in a cave near the Psagot settlement where he lives as a symbol that he stamps on all his winery’s bottles. The coin, which dates back to the Bar Kochva revolt, has the words “Freedom of Zion” written on it. He has battled for this freedom on the international stage over the issue of product labeling. He wants the words “Made in Israel,” which he prints on the labels his winery produces, to be a recognized international fact."

Excerpt: "Pompeo on behalf of the Trump administration issued the historic declarations that Israeli settlements were not inconsistent with international law. Just last month, Friedman took steps against settlement boycotts and UN Security Council Resolution 2334 condemning settlements. Friedman declared that the US would no longer make a territorial distinction between the West Bank and sovereign Israel."

Excerpt from WSJ: "Mr. Pompeo’s visit to the Psagot Winery’s visitor center, on the edge of the Sha’ar Binyamin settlement, was described by the State Department as private and journalists weren’t allowed inside. Before visiting the winery, Mr. Pompeo announced that the U.S. would consider the Palestinian-led boycott, divestment and sanctions movement, known as BDS, to be anti-Semitic and would cut U.S. support to any groups or organizations participating in it. Organizers with the movement say it is a peaceful campaign aimed at pressuring Israel to change its policies toward the Palestinians."

The Jewish State's Entrepreneurial Spirit

Celebrating Israel's 75th Anniversary

Join America's Roundtable Radio co-hosts Natasha Srdoc and Joel Anand Samy with Yaakov and Na'ama Berg, entrepreneurs and co-founders of The Psagot Winery located in the Jerusalem Mountains in Israel.

From the Psagot Winery | Located in the Jerusalem mountains, overlooking the primordial landscape of Israel.

Join America's Roundtable Radio co-hosts Natasha Srdoc and Joel Anand Samy in a recent conversation with Arizona's State Treasurer Kimberly Yee focusing on her leadership role in countering the dangerous anti-Israel BDS (Boycott, Sanctions, and Divestment) movement. The conversation highlights the rise of anti-Semitism and how principled leaders across America are calling for principled actions against the BDS movement—a hateful campaign designed to delegitimize Israel and Jewish communities in America and around the world.
Arizona State Treasurer Kimberly Yee put investment firm Morningstar on notice and stated that it violated the state’s anti-BDS law.
The Jewish Insider | Morningstar ESG rating system violates Arizona anti-BDS law, treasurer says (https://jewishinsider.com/2022/08/arizona-kimberly-lee-morningstar-esg-sustainalytics/)
“As Treasurer, it is my duty to ensure that Arizona does not do business with companies that are attempting to undermine Israel’s economy and violate Arizona’s anti-BDS law,” said Arizona Treasurer Kimberly Yee. “Morningstar’s ESG rating subsidiary, Sustainalytics, appears to violate Arizona law by negatively impacting ratings of companies doing business in Israel. I continue to strongly oppose the use of woke ESG ratings in order to keep politics out of Arizonan’s livelihoods and retirement accounts.”
In Treasurer Yee’s letter to Kunal Kapoor, CEO of Morningstar Inc., she informed Kapoor that the company had 30 days within receipt of her letter sent on August 18, 2022, to provide written certification explaining how Morningstar’s usage of ESG ratings does not violate Arizona’s anti-BDS law. Further, Treasurer Yee required that Morningstar must provide a written averment that they will not engage in any future boycott activities against Israel.
“As Arizona’s Chief Banking and Investment Officer, I stand with Israel, and I will not allow taxpayer dollars to become victim to the woke political gamesmanship of ESG ratings. ESG ratings are a political scorecard, not a financial scorecard,” said Arizona Treasurer Kimberly Yee. “I will not allow companies to promote policies that are antisemitic and discriminatory efforts against Israel, which is America's longtime friend and ally, and a significant trade partner with Arizona.”
Treasurer Kimberly and Arizona's state government have stood in support of Israel's sovereignty and thwarted efforts of American companies working to boycott Israel.
Last year in September 2021, Treasurer Yee withdrew $143 million of Arizona's public funds from Unilever, the parent company of Ben and Jerry's over the ice cream firm’s decision to cease sales in Judea and Samaria also known as the West Bank, and east Jerusalem.
A published report stated (https://www.foxbusiness.com/politics/arizonas-state-treasurer-divests-funds-ben-jerrys-anti-semitic-boycott-israel) — "Arizona will not do business with companies that are attempting to undermine Israel’s economy and blatantly disregarding Arizona’s law," said Treasurer Kimberly Yee.

The Jewish Insider | Morningstar ESG rating system violates Arizona anti-BDS law, treasurer says

A published report stated — "Arizona will not do business with companies that are attempting to undermine Israel’s economy and blatantly disregarding Arizona’s law," said Treasurer Kimberly Yee.

Join America's Roundtable Radio co-hosts Natasha Srdoc and Joel Anand Samy in a conversation with Kimberly Yee, State Treasurer of Arizona (https://www.aztreasury.gov/treasurer-kimberly-yee)and former Arizona Senate Majority Leader. Arizona and the Arizona Treasurer’s Office was the first state to divest state funds from Ben & Jerry’s due to their Israeli settlement boycott in Judea and Samaria last September. On September 7, 2021, Arizona State Treasurer Kimberly Yee's divested $143 million of public funds from Unilever PLC, Ben and Jerry's parent company.
Treasurer Kimberly Yee provides the latest update on Ben & Jerry’s and the actions taken by its parent company Unilever.
"As Arizona Treasurer, I've divested all state funds from Ben & Jerry's for boycotting Israel," Yee tweeted (https://twitter.com/KimberlyYeeAZ/status/1435279685399678982?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw). "Israel is and will continue to be a major trade partner of AZ. #IStandWithIsrael and I will not allow taxpayer dollars to go towards anti-Semitic, discriminatory efforts against Israel."
The discussion with Arizona State Treasurer Kimberly Yee also focuses on America's inflation surge and the solutions presented to address the nation's energy crisis and the national security at the southern border. Arizona spans more than 370 miles of the U.S.-Mexico border. The U.S. Customs and Border Protection is on pace to make more than 2 million arrests along the Mexico border during the 2022 fiscal year.
On the energy front, Kimberly Yee has been a leading voice to hold to account the U.S. banking industry and the world’s largest asset managers when it comes to efforts to boycott energy companies. In November 2021, Treasurer Yee joined a coalition of 15 Republican Treasurers, Auditors, and Comptrollers of states representing over $600 billion in public assets with a warning that it could potentially reduce future business with banks that cut off financing for oil, gas, and coal.
The letter reads:
"We have a compelling government interest, when acting as participants in the financial services market on behalf of our respective states, to select financial institutions that are not engaged in tactics to harm the very people whose money they are handling. Further, we have the responsibility, as fiduciaries and stewards of more than $600 billion (https://oilprice.com/Energy/Energy-General/Republican-States-Could-Pull-600B-From-Anti-Fossil-Fuel-Banks.html), to ensure that our financial service providers are free from harmful conflicts of interest that could jeopardize state funds. Any financial institution that has adopted policies aimed at diminishing a large portion of our states’ revenue has a major conflict of interest against holding, maintaining, or managing those funds."

"As Arizona Treasurer, I've divested all state funds from Ben & Jerry's for boycotting Israel," Yee tweeted.

Further, we have the responsibility, as fiduciaries and stewards of more than $600 billion, to ensure that our financial service providers are free from harmful conflicts of interest that could jeopardize state funds. Any financial institution that has adopted policies aimed at diminishing a large portion of our states’ revenue has a major conflict of interest against holding, maintaining, or managing those funds."

She is Arizona's chief banking and investment officer and oversees the cash management of Arizona's $53 billion state budget and payments to agencies, local governments and schools. Upon taking office in January 2019, assets under management were at $15.4 billion. Today, assets under management stand at over $29.9 billion, an increase of 94 percent in 41 months.

Voluntary deposits into the Local Government Investment Pool have also increased by 74 percent under Treasurer Yee's leadership, reaching a record high balance of $5.87 billion in total assets as of May 31, 2022.

Treasurer Yee led the effort to pass a state law requiring students to have financial education in high school before graduation, and was the first State Treasurer to have visited all 15 counties in Arizona during the first year of her administration.

Treasurer Yee is the Chairman of the Arizona Board of Investment and State Loan Commission and is a member of the State Land Selection Board. She also serves as Chairman of the Financial Literacy Task Force, Arizona's first-ever statewide body dedicated to advancing personal money management and financial awareness for students, senior citizens, military families and vulnerable populations.

Treasurer Yee is the Administrator of the AZ529 Education Savings Plan. Since the Fall of 2020, Kimberly has grown assets to nearly $1.8 billion with more than 20,000 new accounts opened to help families save for higher education and workforce development.

Born and raised in Arizona, Treasurer Kimberly Yee is the first Asian American elected to a statewide office in Arizona’s history. She is also the first Chinese American Republican woman to win a major statewide office in the history of the United States. In 2010, she became the first Asian American woman elected to the Arizona Legislature and served for eight years, both in the House and the Senate.

Kimberly served as Senate Majority Leader and became the second woman elected to this position in Arizona’s history, following U.S. Justice Sandra Day O’Connor who served the position in 1973, forty-four years earlier.

Mayor Gabriel Groisman of Bal Harbour, Florida, is Partner at LSN Partners, and a tireless advocate for strengthening the US-Israel partnership and expanding the Abraham Accords.
Mayor Groisman joins America's Roundtable Radio co-hosts Natasha Srdoc and Joel Anand Samy for a conversation about principled pro-growth policies advanced by Florida's elected officials, business leaders and engaged stakeholders, and the state's unique approach in addressing the Covid pandemic which have become a model for America. The discussion with Mayor Gabriel Groisman also focuses on the growing concerns of the Biden administration's insistence on closing a deal with Iran, a state sponsor of terrorism, thus handing over to the Iranian regime access to $90 billion dollars in foreign currency reserves and sanctions relief.
The program also brings to the forefront urgency to expand the Abraham Accords, a principled policy initiative which is bringing together countries in the Middle East to promote trade and investments, and advancing pro-growth policies for the region. The discussion will also address the rise of anti-Semitism in America and around the world, as well as the BDS (Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions) movement targeting the sovereign state of Israel — which adversely impacts both Arabs and Jews.
The Economist, April 2, 2022: What America can learn from Florida’s boom
"In fact, Florida has become emblematic of much of America and central to all of it. The state is on the rise, as our special report this week explains. Between 2010 and 2020 its population grew at double the national rate. Florida has overtaken New York to become America’s third-most-populous state after California and Texas, with a dynamic and diverse demography, including fast-rising numbers of Hispanics. It is now the number-one destination for American and foreign movers." — The Economist
Mayor Groisman will also share his insights on Passover, commemorating one of the high-holidays in the Jewish calendar commencing next week. He will invite us to learn more about the timeless principles from the historic events that led to the Israelites gaining their freedom from slavery in ancient Egypt, and their extraordinary journey to the Promised Land — today's Jewish State of Israel.
Mayor Gabriel Groisman's Brief Bio
Mayor Gabriel Groisman has been serving his community since November 2014, first being elected as a Councilman, and then in November 2016 was elected as the Mayor of Bal Harbour, Florida. He wrote and passed the nation’s first municipal anti-BDS ordinance in December 2015 and was the first in the nation to codify a uniform definition of anti-Semitism in December 2017. Groisman’s subsequent dealings with a local church who had previously boycotted and divested from Israel is the first documented success story of anti-BDS legislation. He is a sought after public speaker, regularly speaking to groups about fighting anti-semitism and the BDS movement, and related topics. Mayor Groisman has presented on two occasions at the United Nations in New York as a legal scholar on combating unjust and illegal commercial and academic boycotts of Israel, and has also presented at conferences held at the Italian Parliament in Rome, the Israeli Knesset and across the country. Still, Mayor Groisman prides himself in speaking to high school and college-aged students, who are the most directly impacted by the rise of anti-Semitism, always delivering a much needed sense of pride and strength.
In his private life, Groisman is also a practicing attorney and government affairs consultant. He is a partner at the prestigious firm of LSN Partners where he focuses on government relations in correlation with the firm's state and national practice. At LSN Gabriel established an International Tech practice, working primarily with Israeli tech companies in various sectors, helping them navigate the world of government procurement and regulatory affairs in the United States. He also often advises on cases around the world related to protecting the Jewish community from discriminatory conduct by governments and private individuals alike. In 2017, Groisman was named as a member of Advisory Council for Israel and Middle East Issues by then-Congressman Ron DeSantis, Chairman of National Security Subcommittee. In 2018, Mayor Groisman was awarded the Pursuit of Justice Award by the prestigious American Association of Jewish Lawyers and Jurists.

The Honorable David Melech Friedman, former U.S. Ambassador to Israel (2017- 2021), joins America's Roundtable Radio co-hosts Natasha Srdoc and Joel Anand Samy for a conversation about his newly released book titled "Sledgehammer: How Breaking with the Past Brought Peace to the Middle East". The same week it was released, the book topped Amazon’s list of “Movers and Shakers” and “Top New Releases." | https://www.sledgehammerbook.com/
Under the leadership of Ambassador Friedman, the United States made unprecedented diplomatic advances, including moving U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem, recognizing Israel’s sovereignty over the Golan Heights and, of course, brokering the Abraham Accords.
Sledgehammer
The inside story of an extraordinary, once-in-a-generation victory: the normalization of relations between Israel and the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Sudan, Kosovo, and Morocco. Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results is insanity. For decades, the U.S. State Department called it diplomacy.
David Friedman was an outside candidate when President Trump appointed him U.S. ambassador to Israel. He took office to find U.S.-Israel policy stuck in stalemate. For years, accepted wisdom was that extensive experience and detailed knowledge of Middle Eastern history and culture were necessary to negotiate treaties. In truth, Friedman realized, all parties played on that accepted wisdom to stall—expecting to get a better deal further down the road.
Tossing the State Department playbook aside and incorporating insights from his many years as a negotiator in the American private sector, Friedman and a small team with no prior diplomatic experience revamped American diplomacy to project “peace through strength.” He emphasized the importance of leverage, the key to any good negotiation. After painstaking, behind-the-scenes work, the Abraham Accords were signed: a historic series of peace deals between Israel and the five Muslim nations.
In Sledgehammer, Friedman tells the true story of how the Abraham Accords came about. He takes us from the Oval Office to the highest echelons of power in the Middle East, putting us at the table during the intense negotiations that led to this historic breakthrough. The inside story of arguably the greatest achievement of the Trump Administration, Sledgehammer is an important, inspiring account of the hard, hopeful work necessary to bring long overdue—and lasting—peace to one of the most turbulent and tragic regions of the globe.
